Sunday Morning Subtle But Obvious Organized Self Abuse Swim Club

I have a lot of memories, I seem to not be able to shut up the monkey mind, I over analyze. I now get to do all that while learning to type.

AM earworms

Rhinestone Cowboy - Who is that? I think that would be Glen Campbell.

Don't laugh too hard. I actually bought Witchita Lineman a year or so back just for the title song and The Dream Of The Everyday Housewife. If you need to blame someone blame my brother. You should have seen him in his Glen Campbell side bangs in fifth grade.

Glen Campell hmmmmm. Didja know he took the place of Brian Wilson in the Beach Boy for a time when Brian decided to leave the tour? I always had a weakness for the song Southern Nights by him. I loved the electric 12 string up front and twangy.

in the late 80s the biscuits had a spin off band
Thunderpants...me, ron, one of the delaneys, and a little bald
guy in a green 3 piece for a singer.
we did lotsa journey covers. delaney was embarassed and would dissappear after we played...
but the singer was very sincere about it.

he was of the opinion that "lineman" was the best
lovesong ever written...
he was obsessed with "lineman" and would go to right wing rallies, and the preachers on the diag and sing it to them thru a megaphone. he even got detained by the secret service at a bush sr rally for his passion.

one of our other roomies, june russell was just as
keen on "Dreams of an Everyday Housewife"

i grew up with that album (as a doinkster i loved the song "Ann" and would walk around the house singing it as a 5-6 year old.

like you, stella, that song often crosses my wires, like today as i was cleaning up terky grease.

Glen is obviously on the screen of the collective unconscious lately.
Also
This is the opposite of the razzing I was expecting for admitting I have a relationship with HIM.

"Wichita Lineman" by Jimmy Webb is considered by many music lovers to be a true classic. Talent is talent, folks! Glen Campbell has always been a gifted guitarist -- and listen to him sing anything by Jimmy Webb -- Wichita Lineman, Galveston, blah blah. Beautiful. Why ever be embarrassed by enjoying pure talent?

"And I need you more than want you
And I want you for all time ... And the Wichita Lineman is still on the line ...

Mmmm, lovely!
