Sunday Morning Subtle But Obvious Organized Self Abuse Swim Club

I have a lot of memories, I seem to not be able to shut up the monkey mind, I over analyze. I now get to do all that while learning to type.

I’m sorry but...

I have to insist that emoticons are evil. (And awful). I will admit to having tried them once, but I didn’t inhale and I felt really cheap and tawdry afters.

I wonder if it was the surprise emoticon from my blog that set you off. I didn't realize it would take my punctuation and turn it into a bright yellow smiley face.
If it was me, I apologize. It wasn't intentional.
I may edit it out, but better yet feel free to go back to the blog and state your opposition there!
It may be OK to use them once every 50 posts? Or maybe one in 100? There is some balance somewhere -- but more than once per post is clearly way way over a line that we would agree should not be crossed. And I'd certainly agree that using them once a day was twisted. But very very occasional use doesn't bug me too much -- it is just distracting.

My contention is that any continued use of them after one's initial, flirting trial, really saps one's credibility factor.
I can't say that I think there is any balance to be had with them, other than adamant refusal to cave in to internet peer pressure.
The same with all those tardbox words like LOL, ROTFL and LMAO, awful, just awful.
The only one I can even begin to tolerate is IMO which at least leaves the vague impression of being similiar to re: and etc.
